Worst Referee in the Premier League
Today's candidate for worse referee has to go to today's ref that really should have gone to spec savers/vision express before turning up for duty today. I think i could have done better with my cross eye and patch on my good eye.

Re: Worst Referee in the Premier League
My view on the Adrian sending off would be that it should have been a yellow. the ref called Adrian back but he was running back to his own goal to try and get back into his position i wonder if the ref got pi55ed off with calling him back and so showed him a red card

Spot on stewie

So if a defender brings you down when you're through 1 on 1 with the keeper, that's acred but a goalie doing it with a defender in the line isn't a ckear opportunity? If that's tge case the defender should be in goal all the fucking time!

when I saw it real time I thought he was taking him down for that purpose. Seeing the replay, I don't think that was the case. it was too awkward of a collision for him to have meant it. plus if it was just to get back in position, he could have just grabbed him till a foul was called an taken a yellow.

Re: Worst Referee in the Premier League
Stewie is right, unless the defender would have got to the ball even if the attacker had not been fouled then it's irrelevant if the defender is back.

It is commentators including ex-players who go on about "last man" in relation to "professional fouls". If the forward would have had an obvious goalscoring opportunity and was taken out to stop that happening then it's a red card. It doesn't matter who else is back.

Re: Worst Referee in the Premier League
I think that was more the case in that Courtois sending off when Gomis would have had the ball with only one defender maybe getting on the line.

Sahko wasn't catching that ball I think but I would say that distracting him by punching him in the face denied a clear scoring opportunity. I don't give a shit where the defender was.

Yep, obvious and opportunity are key in that.

What a surprise Griff has an opinion on this.

Re: Worst Referee in the Premier League
What really annoys me, is how this current 'denying a clear goalscoring opportunity' thing is viewed.

They seem to suggest that if the attacker is brought down by the keeper but a defender is back, that it's not a 'clear goalscoring opportunity'?

On what planet is having no goalkeeper and one defender on the line - or somewhere near it - NOT a clear goalscoring opportunity? (except when its Carlton, obviously)

Re: Worst Referee in the Premier League
Having watched again I think Vardy and Adrian should have seen red.
Schmeichel's incident was a penalty as it was a deliberate smack across the chest/head to prevent him getting to the ball when he had played it past him.
All the talk of whether it should have been a red concentrated on how close the defender was.
I am giving him a red for smacking Sahko across the head. Call me old fashioned but that's a sending off.

Re: Worst Referee in the Premier League
The Adrian tackle was dangerous and no more. He had eyes only for the ball. Compare and contrast that with the Vardy assault where he knew precisely what he was doing.

The thing about a referee is that he handles a game in his own individual way in accordance with his interpretation of the rules. What annoys is when a ref applies his rules inconsistently. That seemed to be the case on Saturday.

no refs are biased against west ham, none treat us worse that any other team and none have an agenda against us.

Some arent great, but jesus some of you act like 10 year old girls

"I know what it says but to be excessive you would need to be in control of your body"

No you wouldn't.

Anyway, for the record I truly hope I'm wrong and that if we appeal it gets rescinded.

Re: Worst Referee in the Premier League
I don't accept that Adrian didn't see the opponent. Even looking up Adrian's peripheral vision would have seen the player coming. Try it.

Adrian meant that foul because he was way out of position and could not afford to lose the ball. It will cost us dearly. I do think the ref made a mistake over the missed penalty though. It was a late challenge in the box. Anywhere else on the pitch the ref would have given it...

Andy D'Urso was always biased against WHU. Probably cos he was from Billericay and was (allegedly) a yid.

I think it should have been a yellow but according to the rules of the game it was a definite red.

Re: Worst Referee in the Premier League
I know what it says but to be excessive you would need to be in control of your body, it was reckless at best. It didn't endanger anything, we won't win an appeal but it was a comical moment, not malicious at all. Everyone knew it was yellow apart from that cunt Taylor.

What made it worse was the lack of consistency after the vardy challenge.

So on that basis, varny should have seen red aswell.

... I once destroyed the taps on the sink in my kitchen as I was trying to fix them carefully and then my Mrs said I should just use more force. Against my better judgement I did use more force, it turned out to be excessive. I didn't mean it to be excessive, I just didn't control the force of the impact enough.

I blame my Mrs.

But it was still excessive.
